Rawalpindi Metro Bus Service Suspended for Track Repairs

RAWALPINDI: The Metro Bus service in Rawalpindi has been temporarily suspended from Saddar Station to Faizabad to facilitate essential track repair work, according to local authorities. This suspension is part of a comprehensive rehabilitation project aimed at enhancing safety and the smooth operation of the transit system.

The temporary halt affects commuters between Saddar and Faizabad, but those traveling on the Islamabad route from IJP Road to the Pak Secretariat will continue to have uninterrupted access to the Metro Bus service. Passengers impacted by the Rawalpindi route suspension are encouraged to plan alternative travel arrangements for the duration of the repairs.

Rehabilitation Project Progress and Expected Completion

With an allocated budget of Rs. 718.945 million, this major rehabilitation initiative is expected to be completed by December. So far, six out of the 20 designated sites have been fully renovated, including notable stations at Shamsabad, Rehmanabad, Waris Khan, and Liaquat Bagh. These station upgrades are part of the administration’s larger commitment to providing a safer and more efficient public transportation experience for Rawalpindi’s commuters.

Ensuring Passenger Safety and Service Quality

This repair effort highlights the administration’s dedication to maintaining the Metro Bus infrastructure and providing a reliable service. While the temporary suspension may inconvenience some passengers, officials are optimistic that the improved infrastructure will significantly enhance the overall travel experience once completed.

Passengers are advised to stay informed about the progress and make necessary adjustments to their travel plans during this period.
